Stubb Meets Zelensky in Washington to Discuss Ukraine Peace Efforts After Graham Funeral

WASHINGTON, D.C.
Finnish President Alexander Stubb held bilateral talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday following the funeral of late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham.
The two leaders attended the state funeral before meeting to discuss the ongoing war in Ukraine and diplomatic efforts to restore peace.
Following the meeting, President Zelensky said on X that the discussions focused on diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. He also expressed gratitude to President Stubb for his continued understanding of Ukraine’s security needs and unwavering support.
President Stubb travelled to Washington to attend Senator Graham’s funeral, paying tribute to the longtime U.S. lawmaker, who was widely recognized for his strong support of Ukraine and transatlantic cooperation.
The meeting comes at a time of renewed international diplomatic engagement over the war in Ukraine, with Kyiv continuing to seek stronger security guarantees and increased military assistance from its Western partners.
