Nordic Public Broadcasters Strengthen Cooperation to Prepare for Crises

Nordic public service media companies have agreed to strengthen cooperation to ensure reliable access to news and information during crises.
The joint initiative aims to improve preparedness for emergencies, with a particular focus on countering cyber threats and preventing the spread of disinformation.
Under the agreement, public broadcasters across the Nordic region have also committed to supporting one another if a crisis disrupts media services in any of the participating countries.
For example, if a country loses access to its own news and information channels, residents will be able to receive essential updates through another Nordic public broadcaster.
The cooperation is intended to help ensure that people can continue to access reliable and timely information during emergencies, when accurate reporting is particularly important.
The agreement highlights the importance of cross-border collaboration among Nordic public service media in strengthening resilience against information threats and maintaining public access to trusted news during times of crisis.
